Multichannel Data Logger Product Description
|
The Global multichannel datalogger, GL500, is the latest addition to our line of rugged remote recording instrumentation. It
features 7 analog channels and 2 digital channels for data recording. The GL500 can record over 40,000 readings and has four
unique recording options, fast (10 samples per second), programmable interval (1 second to multiple years), logarithmic, and
exception. The datalogger also has a sample on demand input that triggers a recording of special events, such as when a water
sampler was triggered, when a door was opened, etc. Daily start and stop alarm times can be programmed to limit recording
intervals during a day. The GL500 includes Windows and PDA software, allowing easy upload of data to a laptop, desktop, or PDA
for transfer to a spreadsheet program. NOTE: The Palm operating system is NOT supported. For more information on

Bluetooth Capability
The GL500-7-2-BT Data Logger is a version of Global Water's popular GL500 logger plus a built in Bluetooth 2.0 serial interface for
accessing data and settings without the use of a custom connection cable. Using a PDA, laptop or desktop computer with
Bluetooth capability; the data logger's data and settings can be viewed, stored and programmed using the Global Logger II desktop
and PDA software packages, as well as the Flow Monitor software. All of the features in these data logger software packages
are available using the Bluetooth interface.
Because the Bluetooth module draws power when turned on, the data logger features a power switch so you can turning it off when not
in use. A red LED indicates when the data logger's Bluetooth module is on and a blue LED shows the status of the Bluetooth
connection.
Data Logger Inputs
The Global data logger is setup to accept any 4-20 mA sensor. The GL500 provides switched power to the sensors based on the
sample interval and sensor warm up time settings. Twisted pair 2-wire and 3-wire sensors can be quickly connected to the
datalogger's terminal strip and calibrated via the Global datalogger software. Your sensors can be accessed through dial-out to
a remote modem attached to the GL500's serial communication port. The datalogger software has online help files that are easily
accessed using drop down menus and links to quickly find the answers to your questions.
The data recorder has an optional rugged, lockable and weather-resistant enclosure that can easily be hidden,
bolted to a post, or secured inside an additional container for added protection from the elements, animals or vandals. A 12VDC
rechargeable battery and battery charger come with the data logger enclosure option.

Data Logger Software Information
|
|
The Data Logger includes Global Water Datalogger Software, Windows-based
software that provides many useful features, such as real-time readout, measurement interval and engineering unit selection, station
ID setting, and sensor calibration. The software makes accessing stored data and setting options easy. Data downloaded
from the Data Logger can easily be opened in any PC spreadsheet program for analysis and graphic presentation. Globlal Water's
Data Logger Software will run on a PC-type laptop or desktop computer running Windows 98 or later. To communicate with the Data
Logger, either a standard RS232 serial or a USB host communication port will
work. Purchase of the Data Logger includes communication cables (for communication between the data logger and your computer).
